Vacation - Oh yeah!

This year, the three of us headed to the northeast for our vacation. We thought Salem would be the most awesome place to participate in Halloween festivities, Jansen wanted to go to the MIT museum and I wanted to take them to Montreal.

Boston was busy and crowded and we wanted to head out to the woods, but we accidentally found the MIT museum when we stopped for pizza, so it was just meant to be!

We camped at a really cool campground in Hingham and the weather and change in the color of leaves was PERFECT! Running was great here, as the hills are very gradual. This was my favorite place!

On to Salem! It must have been Harley weekend, as there were a ton of loud motorcycles everywhere.

Then we drove around Montreal to take a peek at the 'Olympic Architecture'.

We were asked 20 questions at the border and it took us forever to get back across.

Next, one of our favorite stops..... the Ben and Jerry's factory tour in Vermont!!! Very groovy...

Everett's 18th!! Roller Derby/Scott Pilgrim/SS ride

Everett turned 18 this year!

We had decided to go to the roller derby for his birthday, but they were sold out in August (who knew how popular roller derby was?!?), so we headed in to Atlantic Station to watch the Scott Pilgrim movie, which we all LOVED!! (def have to get that one when it comes out on DVD)

Then I bought tickets for the next roller derby bout in September, which just happened to be the championship bout, as a belated birthday gift for Everett.

The championship bout was on the same day as the GA single speed championship ride, so we headed up to Ellijay to ride, then back down to Atlanta for the derby.

I had put ergon grips on my ss and had such terrible hand cramping that I had to stop frequently because I couldn't grab the brakes, but other than that I enjoyed my ss and I really loved the trail....just need my cheapo grips that I love so much. :>)

We had yummy hamburgers at Mulberry Gap and then headed down to Atlanta for the roller derby.

It was the Apocalipstix vs. Denim Demons. There was an awesome band and great vendors,

too.

The bout was very exciting and they even had JEER LEADERS! Lots of fun!

Belladium Womens Ride hits 150!!

Lee's team, Belladium, had a women's ride this past weekend. They reached their limit of 150 registered riders for the 32 mile road route. That is AWESOME!! Team Belladium provided cue sheets, a lovely route through the green countryside, yummy lunch and a very cool goody bag with a baby blue tshirt....women's fit!

So, Molly, Jen and I decided to make the drive up to ride with Lee.

I drove up Saturday morning, and stopped at Greenlife, in Chattanooga, along the way. This is Molly's favorite grocery store, so I wanted to check it out.

And the icing on the cake is that Rock Creek Outfitters is two doors down! Love that store!!

The ride started/ended at Arrington Vineyards, which is south of Nashville.

It was really amazing to see the ladies lined up down the road. What a great group!

It gets a little toasty in Tennessee during the summer, so we found some shade after the ride and cooled for 2 minutes before heading back out to cheer on and ride along side some more ladies.

Lunch was perfect! It really hit the spot when I cooled down and found out I was starving.

After the ride, I changed and headed into Nashville for some sight-seeing. The Team Belladium lunch really hit the spot and I was a happy camper....off to see the Parthenon.

The history of the building and all the other buildings, that were demolished, was pretty interesting. They had actually built the blue grotto, complete with gondola rides into the cave and greek statues. ( I will never forget our boat ride into the blue grotto on the Island of Capri. We had to lay down in the boat and ride in-between the waves, and the boat still slammed up against the top wall of the opening to the cave. Yikes!)

Next, I hit the farmer's market. Nashville has a REAL farmer's market and it's huge!

They also have a garden center, an air conditioned international food court and a really cool flea market. The flea market reminded me of the shops along the border of Mexico. (US side)

I picked up some peaches and a tomato for snacking on the way home.

Huge thanks to Team Belladium for putting on a great event and I know they will fill up quickly for 2011.

Shower for Kate!

We had one baby shower done and now it was time to get together and celebrate Kate extending her family to add "sunchip".

Everyone pulled together and came up with amazing food and yummy punch.

Kate made off with some pretty cool stuff. They have so much more to offer for active moms now then when our boys were little.

Molly found a very cool little wool beanie in Peru.

It was lots of fun catching up with everyone and Aimee came up with a pretty cool game for us to play....even though we are not game players and I refuse to put those pictures on here because we had to wear name tags.....the game was pretty hilarious considering the crowd who was playing and everyone had fun!

Linda and Alison are training for an iron man in October, Norma has a 50k trail run coming up and Molly is doing a crazy team ultra distance run from Athens to Helen? So it was great to get the low-down on all their training.
