For the fourth of July it was hard to find an area where it wasn't raining. We watched the radar and found a little area along the coast where it might not rain, so we headed east.
Danger Dave opened a cool bike shop in Myrtle Beach, so we decided to stop to see him first. We rode from the shop and I got to see some cool animals at the Waccatee Zoo along my route.
Cool park across from Dave's shop.Danger Dave
He seems to be doing very well where he is located and I'm sure bike rentals are popular.
Dave sent us to eat at a cool mexican food place. The nachos were insane!
Next it was off to see Adam and Nancy in Wilmington. We arrived in time to visit a bit before dinner at a cafe on the water. Then we drove out to the boardwalk to stand in line for donuts. The boardwalk was "interesting" and I wasn't sure why we were waiting for 45 minutes for donuts, until my first bite. Wow! Totally worth standing in line all day, if needed! These donuts are out of this world!!!!
We spent the night at Adam's then got a late start on a road ride. Nancy was rolling on her new custom Zukas, which was gorgeous!
The ride was fun and we finished up just before it warmed up. Adam and Shey hanging out on the porch.
It was great to see Adam and Nancy. We spent so much time together planning and promoting the cyclocross series for a few years. They are great people to work with and very good friends. Hope we see them at the handmade bike show this year.
