Sea Otter has ice cream!

Jansen and Shey both got gelato after their races, so they were pretty happy. Jansen's race was changed from 40 miles to 20 miles on the start line in true USA Cycling fashion. (who needs to worry about training for a certain distance, anyway?) J crashed early on, recovered, then went on to finish 6th. Bummer, but it sounds like they had a great weekend and there was ICE CREAM! The guys raced at the same time, so not any pictures of them racing, but they did shoot some friends. Krista and Jansen. Jansen is a little more relaxed than Krista at that moment. Jeremiah
Tinker
Giant had a great selection of demos.
S and J were happy as clams to walk amongst so many two-wheeled toys.

Post race meal.

And a walk on the beach...

Everett and I spent a good bit of time going over college/scholarship applications at home......it's amazing how time consuming this has been! Then we spent a wonderful afternoon at the horse park, where Everett filmed some great footage of the trail with my new hero hd camera. More of that to come! The weather was gorgeous. It was even too pretty to feel grumpy about the bulldozed sections that have popped up on our beloved trail.

Oh, and don't tell Shey but we got doughnuts!!!

Jansen's 4 hour Birthday Ride

Jansen said he wanted to just chill out for his 16th birthday this year. Wow, driving age and all that jazz! His requests were HALF a coconut cake from Southern Sweets, cash for his upcoming race trips and a relaxing day. (no movies, no concerts, no tours, just hanging out) Well, Coach Andy had other plans and Jansen spent the morning on a 4 hour ride. The day was gorgeous, though and we couldn't have asked for a better spring-time loop. His post ride snack was recovery drink and cake, then we headed in to the new burrito place followed by a trip to the store to pick up the Tron DVD and a new fedora to add to the hat collection.

The Long Legged King.

Jansen and one our new family members.

The rabbits LOVE the spinach from the garden!

The guys shipped their bikes out to CA this week for Sea Otter, so Jansen and Shey built up his FS and he got the chance to ride it this week. OOooooooh, preeeeeettttty!

He had an easy ride scheduled, but was having too much fun going fast on the new fs and had to slow down a bit.

Everett always seems to find these huge pieces of metal that he wants to bring home.....

We all still like riding together after school/work, whenever we can.

Then watching the sun set before we head home.

Newlyweds and Tsali

Cory was staying with us for the week and, well, April Fools Day rolled around, so.....I couldn't resist decorating his truck for him. Especially since he and Jansen would be heading over to Andy's together, then on to Tsali for the race. Two tough mountain bikers in a "just married" suv.....lot's of double-takes, I'm sure!

Shey and Everett headed up to Tsali very early on Sunday morning. Everett took some pictures and got to sneak in a ride. Here is Jansen getting ready to line-up.

The Colonel was there. Note the water bottles on his hip.

Jansen had a good race with friends.

Shey and Andy rode strong, too.

Cory and the Cycle Youth gang gave a Stans No Tubes Clinic. Cory mesmerized the crowd with his pink hat.

There was a good CY turnout at Tsali.
