July

We finally found a subaru outback with leather, etc.  We drove to AL to get it and we are cleaning it up right now.  Should be ready to go next month.

I started using recipes from the feed zone cookbook.  Yummy white rice goodness in little silver packages.
We happily missed nationals this year and put the money towards fun stuff like....a trials frame.  Jansen is putting together a sweet ride right now.

Indy is watching over the newest edition to the stable.
I took Jansen in to orientation at GA Tech.  I stopped by Dancing Goats coffee bar on my way through town, and luckily it was empty.  I had a lovely birthday morning to myself with some yummy coffee.
Indy is allergic to grass....but he seems to forget......
When you don't pick the cucumbers for 5 days this is what happens.
Shey has wanted one of these covers for a long time.  It's nice to have a shady place to wash bikes.
Jansen took his driver's test and passed.  We got there at 7:45am and he took the test at about 2:30pm.  We sat at DDS for hours, but it was worth it!
I love this picture of one of our hikes, because what you can't see is that Jansen has a milkshake in one hand and a hamburger in the other.  Snacking while hiking....our guys are pros at this!

WNBA The Dream!!!

Brenda posted on facebook that she has two tickets to the Dream game this week that she couldn't use.  I have really wanted to see an WNBA game and here was my chance.  Jansen wanted to go, too, so Bren emailed us the tickets and we were on our way.

Great game!  The game was awesome and the spectators sitting around us were hilarious.  Watching a game in ATL is the most fun ever!
Super fans!
The food was goood and reasonably priced and they had Heineken!  Beer and basketball!!  What's better?

Visiting Friends

For the fourth of July it was hard to find an area where it wasn't raining.  We watched the radar and found a little area along the coast where it might not rain, so we headed east.

Danger Dave opened a cool bike shop in Myrtle Beach, so we decided to stop to see him first.  We rode from the shop and I got to see some cool animals at the Waccatee Zoo along my route.
Cool park across from Dave's shop.
Danger Dave
He seems to be doing very well where he is located and I'm sure bike rentals are popular.
Dave sent us to eat at a cool mexican food place.  The nachos were insane!
Next it was off to see Adam and Nancy in Wilmington.  We arrived in time to visit a bit before dinner at a cafe on the water.  Then we drove out to the boardwalk to stand in line for donuts.  The boardwalk was "interesting" and I wasn't sure why we were waiting for 45 minutes for donuts, until my first bite.  Wow!  Totally worth standing in line all day, if needed!  These donuts are out of this world!!!!
We spent the night at Adam's then got a late start on a road ride.  Nancy was rolling on her new custom Zukas, which was gorgeous!
The ride was fun and we finished up just before it warmed up.  Adam and Shey hanging out on the porch.
It was great to see Adam and Nancy.  We spent so much time together planning and promoting the cyclocross series for a few years.  They are great people to work with and very good friends.  Hope we see them at the handmade bike show this year.
