Riding the 401 in a storm after the parade.....

After the parade in Crested Butte the guys and I drove up Gothic road and parked just past the research center.

 Then Jand I rode up the gravel/dirt road for about 6 miles to hit the 401 trail.  E hiked on the trails by the car.  As we climbed we came across snow

 and a lake that was still icy

 Schofield Pass and the start of the 401

 We had steady rain and wind until we got to the top of the pass, then it stopped.

 Amazing views of the valley

 and wild flowers

 the descent was incredible!

 This was one of our favorite trails for the amazing views!

I saw a bear and some big deer with velvety antlers.
