Clemson Weekend

E and J took the SAT on Saturday, so we skipped the Kenda Cup race in Virginia. Instead we got up early on Sunday and headed to Clemson. Great weather and a great course, but Jansen was the only one racing and he destroyed his derailleur on the first lap....oh, well. Fireworks (the good not-so-legal ones, of course) and ice cream made everyone feel better.

I plug my ears for most of their fireworks, but I like these super-duper smoke bombs.

The Clemson video that I shot would be here, but I can't figure out how to post it.....

Jansen headed up to the mountains on wednesday, with Andy. He was pretty tired after commuting to work, then heading to the Lifetime ride the day before. He said the climbing was killer. They sat in the cold river after, and tolerated the looks from the passing people on tubes.

I found out that Anet won the Tsali 12 hour race. WAY TO GO GIRLIE!!! AJ thought it would be cool if Wes were on the sidelines yelling, "Hey, my mom is beating you!!!" to all the college age racers.

Shey likes to try new things, so he built a couple camp stoves. Here are his first two attempts.

Pretty cool, huh? You just have to be able to cook on really high heat.....really fast. :>)

Shey will be in the mountains with the Jr. Camp on Father's Day, so we had a steak dinner on Thursday before they left. A cool travel tool bag, tool, and coffee made him happy.
